Have you been trying to lose weight recently but haven’t been able to? Some of us at the office feel the same way too – despite dieting and drinking green tea to detox, our damn weight never seems to go down. In fact, it increases instead. These reasons could be why you simply cannot slim down.
Lack of sleep
Sleeping less means lesser energy, which also means less exercising and more late-night snacking. Without enough sleep, your “hunger hormones” will increase and you’ll find yourself eating more to keep yourself awake.
Green tea doesn’t work for you
Green tea does detoxify the body. However it doesn’t work for you. And it won’t work in the long term because your body gets immune to it. Choose other alternatives such as oolong tea and passion fruit tea.
Lack of exercise
Dieting alone is not enough. Neither is exercising on its own. You need to diet and exercise in order to lose weight. Also, ensure you are doing the right kind of exercises that your body needs. No point running everyday but you can’t lose that weight.
Your food choices
Dieting, but still eating foods with high carbs or sugar content? Time to re-plan your diet choices. Consuming sugared drinks will cause you to gain more weight. Avoid the junk food!
You immediately start dieting
Haven’t been dieting suddenly jumping into it? If you think dieting is about eating half of what you ate yesterday, you are wrong. Immediately cutting down on the amount of food you consume will cause you to put on weight instead because your body has yet to adjust to the drastic change!
You don’t have the right attitude
You don’t think you can lose weight. You don’t see the point of exercising. You tend to give up very easily. This means it’s harder for you to keep up with your diet cos you will give up losing weight.
You’re always stressed out
Chronic stress is rather dangerous. It messes with your sleep patterns, your appetite. Some people binge-eat when stressed – it inadvertently causes weight gain.
You don’t need to lose weight
Because you are already at the healthy weight. But you still want to lose weight to look slimmer, for vanity purposes. It’s harder, because your body is conditioned to accept your healthy weight and prevent you from losing anymore weight.
Your environment
People around you are always tempting you to cheat on your diet. They eat junk food in front of you and tease you about your diet. If you eventually give in, it’s time to change your environment. These people are not gonna help you lose your weight for a healthier you.
It’s genetic
If being on the plump side runs in the family, there’s nothing much you can do about it other than accepting your body as it is and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Same to those thin people out there. Love yourselves, people.
